Creative and Affordable Gifts and Presents
Some ideas for unique, low-cost or no-cost gifts and presents.
If you're on a budget, you may want to delve into your own imagination rather than your pockets when finding your partner a gift. Combining your creativity with some things you already have at home allows you to make a unique gift without breaking the bank.
Here are some creative and affordable gift ideas:
Write Something
Your own handwriting can add a special personal touch to pretty much anything. You may want to try writing your loved one a romantic letter and sticking it in a bottle. A message in a bottle is a classic idea and doesn't have to cost you anything.
If you're giving your loved one a photograph in a frame, you could write a message on the frame with a metallic marker or any other type of marker. If you're shy about having your message on display, why not use somebody else's words? You could use words from his or her favorite poem, book, song, or movie. Many of these items, like permanent markers or bottles, can probably be easily found around your home.
Use Something Old
Consider giving your partner something you cherish or you feel is distinctly you. Turn your favorite shirt into a pillow or a blanket. Consider going retro and give him or her your high school ring, favorite childhood stuffed animal or an old sports jersey. In a way, these items help your loved one feel like he or she will always have a little piece of you nearby and the only other cost would be sacrificing your favorite item for your loved one. If you find it hard to part with this token, keep in mind how happy your loved one may be when he or she sees that you've sacrificed it.
These are just a few ideas to get your creativity flowing. You don't need to limit yourself to these suggestions. For more romantic ideas visit The Romantic at www.theromantic.com or Loving You at www.lovingyou.com.
