Should You Get Back Together With Your Ex-Boyfriend or Girlfriend?
Rekindling an old flame can be risky business. There are a number of things to consider when deciding to risk (or not to risk) a second relationship.
Rekindling a relationship with an ex is like walking on ice, one misplaced step may shatter the entire thing. There are certain, very important, things to consider and discuss before reconnecting with a former flame.
Recall what it was exactly that caused the two of you to breakup. Was it something you both will be able to look past or was the breakup something that may cause one of you to hold emotional grudges or feelings of resentment? Remember to be honest with yourself when recalling the past: it is easy to gloss over certain nasty details of the relationship. If you're not careful, you may get back into a relationship only to grapple with the same problems as before.
Take the time to think about your ex-boyfriend or girlfriend. Is this person someone you can actually visualize spending the rest of your life with? If you honestly believe you could build a solid life and future with this person, reconciliation may be a good idea.
If you simply miss your ex-significant other's company, however, then you should consider just being friends. Getting back together with an ex may be dangerous, because you are forced to expose your emotions and fragile states of mind. On the other hand, if there is unresolved business or both of you realize a dire mistake was made, then getting back together may be the right decision after all.
